    wore thick wollen stockings all the year round. There were no slik stockings long ago.
    In olden times there was a shoemaker in every district. Some poeple made their own shoes. The people made their own stockings also. There were only two kinds of stockings, black and white. The children never wore stockings till they were twelve years.
    Wool used to be put inside the clogs as it was very rough for the feet.
    The children of this district still go without shoes in summer time.
    There are a great many old stories about the cures and care of the feet.
