In the year 1925,a great storm arose in the County Monaghan. There was much damage caused and a young girl named Mills was killed on her way to school, when a tree fell on her. There were many trees knocked down and roofs of houses taken off.
About forty years ago, there was a terrible thunder storm.A man was killed by lightening near the town of Rosslea.
About 1926,there was a terrible rain-storm.Haystacks and corn were washed away and the roads were so flooded the people could not come into the town for the markets or fairs or to the shops.
