    Fight between Protestants and Catholics
    at the Pattern Fair at Kilgobnet.
    A great fight was arranged at the Pattern Fair between the Catholics and Protestants.
    A great band of Protestants came from Dingle on horseback armed with swords. The Catholics had only sticks.
    When the leader came near the toll-gap, he drew his sword and a man named Sullivan struck the sword with a stick. The stick broke in two and one part struck the Protestant leader in the eye and he turned and gallopped back with his band to Dingle as fast as they could go.
    Another version is that the Protestant leader was about to cut off the head of a man named Sullivan and another man called Sullivan struck him with a stick and he fell
