    Then the straw has to be gathered up, and the grain swept to one corner of the barn before the next lot is put down. Then if you have a winnowing machine the grain can be separated in the barn and the chaff flies out the door.
    If you have not a winnowing machine the corn must be taken out in a field on a windy day with the aid of a big sieve held high the wind blows away the chaff and at last you have the clean grain ready for bagging.
