  2. Tanning of Leather

    The tanning of leather in olden times was very common. The skins of the cows were steeped in oak-bark and lime. Then they were taken out and hammered very hard. Then they were made into leather. Then they were made into leather. Then they were left steeping in the oak-bark and lime again for a few days. Then they were again dried, and this was continued till the leather was firm and colourerd.
