  2. In our parish the principal time for marriages to take place is during Shrove and during the summer months. On Shrove Tuesday it is a to makes pancakes. It is a great custom to give fortunes to the boy and girl who are getting married. It is an other custom to give all sorts of presents to those who are getting married.
