- There was a wood-work factory carried on in Kilkenny on the Freshford road where the hand-ball-ally now stands about fifteen or twenty years ago.
All kinds of wood-work was thaught there such as cabinet making, chair-making and etc. There was also a basket industry carried on in Kilkenny in Patrick Street.
There were all kinds of baskets made in it, such as potatoes baskets, coal baskets and baskets for various purpose. Their were from sallies which grow by the river Nore.
It is about yen years ago only since this was carried on.
