  1. Long ago in the Parish of St. Mullins there lived an old woman, who was known as "Poll na Bhideóg. She was called this because her thumb was as big as her body. In this thumb the devil lodged. She was taken to Father Danield Kavanagh the Parish Priest of St Mullins and he drove the devil out of her thumb. But till the day of her death she had a large hole in her thumb, and it was from this hole she got her name.
