    Kidney Trouble 47
    Wild Carrot: Wild Carrot root is boild in water for one hour and then allowed to cool. A small quantity of carraway oil it added. A cupful taken 3 times a day.
    Cough 48
    Ivy. Ivy that grows on white thorn boild for one hour. Strain and add sugar and juice of lemons. Allow this to cool and bury in ground for 7 days. This should be taken fasting every morning.
    Sore Eyes 49.
    Holy Wells: Tubber Musha (Tobar Mhuire) also called Ladys Well This well is situated on the right bank of the Glasagh stream in Mr Jer Healy's field near the Glasagh bridge in Kilmacar in the parish of Conahy. In olden times many cures for disease of the eye were said to have been effected at this well. The well was associated with St. Mocheara and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin - hence its name. At the bottom of this well there was a medium sized white stone. Pilgrims coming to the well touched the affected eye with the stone and according to tradition there were many cures. It is said that some pilgrims from Leix took off the stone and ever since neither the well nor the stone have had any curing powers.
