    Memiry retains those pleasant strains
    Of the pattern of the Dinan.

    And now we see the joyous throng
    With beaming joyful faces.
    The boys with steps so light and free
    Lead colleens to their places.
    The music starts and off the go.
    Their feet keep merrily rhyming.
    Ah, what a sight ecstatic bright
    Is the dancing at the Dinan.

    We go through crowds of boys and girls.
    With feathers bright and pretty
    And meet some of our dear old friends.
    From out the Marble city.
    "Come start a reel," says Seamus Doyle
    "We're short two partners, joyne in"
    We weren't shy, Maurin or I.

    Sheds forth a lustrous light
