    45. Local traditions of St Patrick, Collumcille etc.
    It is said that St. Patrick blessed the holy well at Tuamna and that he crossed the Shannon at Battlebridge. He also blessed a well at Cloonfad.
    This is probably true as St. Patrick may have taken the route from Boyle via Knockvicar, Cloonfad, Battleridge to Tuamne, to ARdcarne or to Killucan.
    St. Columcille is not mentioned in connection with any of the ruins around here.
