    used for seeds are called "Sets" and these sets are from one and a half to inches in diameter. They are put in the drills in a single line about twelve inches apart.
    When planting potatoes in ridges a spade is commonly used. This implement consists of two parts namely a handle which is made of ash and a head which is made of iron. Spades are bought in the local shops and are made in Galway Foundry.
