  1. Long ago houses were shaped different from what they are nowadays. They were shaped like a beehive. The roof was made of rushes or reeds which were got in the bog.
    Beds were always in the kitchen. There was a shelf built in the side wall and a curtain outside. Chimneys were made of rods and wattles. The rods were woven like a cleeve. They were called rod chimneys.
    Some houses had no chimneys only
