  1. St Brigids Day falls on the first of February. It is a great feast day in Ireland because it was she who found the first convent in Ireland. All the birds and animals followed her every where.
    In some parts the boys go out that night like the boys on St Stephens day. They have statues with them. They gather money for the statues. When they have it gathered they put it in the poor box for the poor.
