    Do bhí bean ann uair agus do bhí sí ana aerach agus isé an ainm a ghlaodhfhaidhís uirthe ná Cháit a stoca agus dó bhíodh sí ag cniotáil stoca i gcóinnuidhe. Théigheadh sí ag sgoruidheacht gach oidhthe. Oidhthe amháin nuair a bhí sí ag teacht abhaile do chasadh fear uirthe agus thóg sé an stoca uaithe. Do rith Cháit na dhiaidh agus thuit sí agus ghéarr sí a láimh. Chuaidh sí abhaile agus dubhairt a h-Athair leí taisbeáin do láimh dom is mise make aires over it.
