    The finest cattle you would see there grazing,
    And horses that could hunt or plough.
    The weavy corn, the golden barley,
    Which add more charm to Vicarstown.

    The men are sober and educated,
    At far-off places they are renowned.
    At ploughing matches they are seldom beaten,
    They bring the prizes to Vicarstown.

    The spot is rich in art and learning,
    Tradition has it handed down.
    The noble deeds and all concerning,
    Our famous ancestors in Vicarstown.

    There's a monument there of the Penal ages,
    When Yoemen hunted the saggart down.
    Alone in Loughane sleeps the saggarts slayer,
    The graveyard shifted to Vicarstown.
