There is a very big rock in John Linehan land beside the th river. It is about sixty ft. high and two hundred ft. long. - My home is in the townland of Knockanebane which means little white hill. It is so called because there is a hill which i- at highest point is one-thousand ,- one -hundred- and thirty feet high. (1130 feet ). In Summer it is almost all covered with soft white flowers which are the blossoms of a
[ coars] coarse grass called canovane. Hence it goth the name of Knockanebane.- Collector
