    body was given to his relatives and he was buried in his native place. It was said that his funeral was the largest ever seen in the county.
    On a high mound overlooking the spot where Peter O’Neill Crowley fell there is a fine limestone Celtic Cross, commemorating the last stand of one of the bravest of the Fenians.
    This cross can be clearly seen from long distances.
    Peter O’Neill Crowley was thirty five years of age when he met his death.
