- The Fahalea road leads to the Willow Hill road and the Bayview road. It leads through the townland of Fahalea. This road was repaired and made into a public road about a hundred years ago. This road was once an avenue into Fahalea House. The Old Road branches at a cross called Fahalea Cross. This road was made about three or four hundred years ago or maybe years before that. This is one of the oldest roads around all that district. It passes the forts of Fahalea and Cummeen. This road is not used for traffic now since the Fahalea road was made. It is now used as a short cut for people walking to Carrigaline. The Board Of Works Road was made as relief work during the Famine.(continues on next page)
