On little Christmas night the large candles are again lighted and placed in each window.
On St Johns night people light bone fires all round the district and they keep a piece of blackened stick from the fire to put on the potatoes. This is supposed to prevent blight and also is supposed to help the crop to be agood one. Two people hold hand and jump over the bone fire when its burning out this is supposed to prevent disease during the year. The children run through the smoke.
