- This verse was composed by Maurice Cotter Cool West Athea on the year 1916.
I
In the vales of Sweet Dromada where the purpul fountain rise.
One evening fair in April I stood in deep surprise.
To the yelling of a wounded drake as I soon came to know.
And as I drew near the victim I saw that blood did flow.
II
I was hanging from a womans hand.
Who stood three feet in hight.
As she bate her next door neighnour.
With the drake in all her might.
III
She met him with the bill each time.
Right under-neat the hat.
And he called upon Jack Micky.
Saying be sure and witness that.
IIII
Now michael he got wounded.
And he yielded in the fray.
He made straight to the police barrack.
