- (continued from previous page)day. The old people used to take two or three meals of nettles in the month of May.
- People in my district suffered very much from scarcity of food in olden times. Some would have three meals a day and others two because they could not afford the three. The breakfast would be eaten at 7 o' clock in the morning. The dinner at midday and the supper at 9 o' clock in the evening. The meals consisted of sour milk and potatoes. Later on, stampy was used which was made of grated potatoes, and flour and baked. When tea was first used in this district the(continues on next page)
