- Not far from my house in the lands of Mrs. griffin Altavilla Co. Limerick. There is supposed to be a crock of gold in an old ruin. In olden times an old man named Hugh Neill lived in the ruin and it is said it was he that hid it there. Two men went once digging for it, and suddenly a light appeared before them. They kept on digging and the light shone around them, and at last they got afraid and went away from it. The value of the gold is supposed to be two or three thousand pounds.
