- There are a good deal of cures to be found in my district. A toothache was a very severe ailment long ago and the cure was whiskey and pepper to put it up to the jaw. Many people used get cut hands and cure was to put a cobweb up to the cut.
The people nowdays visit holy wells to get cured from blindness. A sprained foot is a disrea disagreable a thing nowdays, and the cure was to put the foot under a pump and pump the cold water down on it.
