- About sixty years ago marriages were altogether different to the present time. People were married anytime during the day and mostly in the evening up to nine o'clock at night; very few had gold rings. The priest usually had a ring to lend them until the ceremony was performed. There were no honeymoons or travelling like the present day.
In Kerry it is different. When they hear of a marriage, there are no invitation, all the country side will turn out to the wedding(continues on next page)
