  1. Knockfierna or Hill.
There lived in the Hill of Knockfierna at one time a chieftain fairy called Downferna and his fairy band. He caused great trouble to the farmers as he used take away all their fat cattle and replace them with thin ones. At one time there was a fair held in Croagh in the townland of Smithfield. A very heavy fall of snow caused all the people to run away out of the fair and take shelter by the bushes and ditches. When they came back their cattle were all covered with snow and nobody knew his own cattle. In the meantime Downferna had raided the fair and had taken away all the best of the cattle leaving very thin hungry cattle which they call "old piners" instead.
