- In every parish there are stories of hidden treasure. Two boys brought stories and this is one of them. Not far from here are the ruins of an old Castle called Brittas castle and on one side of it there is supposed to be a crock of gold under a large flag-stone. Some time ago some men went to unearth this treasure but just as they were going to lift it a large black cat appeared on the top of it. The men ran for their lives but one got tripped and broke his foot. Since then no one ever looked for it for fear anything might happen them too.
