Potteen was made in the old malt house on Edward Boland's lands.

Potteen was made in the old malt house on Edward Boland's lands. A big plantation of trees grew between Fanning's house and present creamery. Many people were hanged from these trees in my mother's time.
Guard's Barrack. The present barrack was once a hospital. The garden, now owned by Daniel Riordan, was then recreation grounds for the patients.
St. Patrickswell . The holy well in the village was visited every year on St. Patrick's day, by the people of the district. The spring well blessed by St. Patrick, has moved about 50 yards further down the stream, and the other well is in the lands of Edward Boland.
