- (continued from previous page)Westmeath. The people went to America in former times. Killadoran is mentioned in the Annals of Westmeath. The land is good. There are two lakes in it and there is a story attached to one of them. There was a man nicknamed "Pike-Eye" who lived in Drumcree and who turned protestant and later died. He was buried in Killadoran churchyard and the people resented that and raised the corpse, They threw him into the lake and from that day to this it is called "Pike-Eyes" hole. Then his relatives took up the corpse and buried it in Kilcumney churchyard.
