    spread in the drills and the cut potatoes are put in them about a foot from one another. Then it is ploughed again to cover in the potatoes. When the stalks wither it is time to dig them. Then the workman picks the potatoes into a bucket and puts them in a pit. First a furrow is made. Then the potatoes are put into it. Then straw is shaken over them and clay is put on top of it. The potatoes we plant are Shamrocks and Kerr's Pinks. There are two kinds of ploughs one for making drills and one for ploughing the ground. Wooden ploughs were used in former times in this district but are none left now. The spades were bought in shops. When potatoes are being prepared for seed the potatoes are cut in two or three parts leaving in each, one or two little eyes
