    Inn at Rock view
    Long ago when there was no way of travelling except by horses and carts. There was at Rockview a Hotel and Travellers' Stop. This old building is situated about two miles for Delvin on the road between Delvin and Mullingar. The travellers' used to stop and rest their horses coming and going from the different towns and fairs such as Mullingar and Killough and if they had any suspicion that any of them had plenty of money. They had a trap hole into which they put the people and rob them and there was never any more heard of them. The reason why the Coach man's stage was burned at Rockview was they had a traphole for anyone they thought had money it happened that an officer came along and was stopping the night. He had a dog as companion with him. He was showed his room and bed for the night. He had a lot of writing to do and he stayed up half the night. When he was going to bed his dog jumped and would not let him into bed. The man getting alarmed left his cases in the room and said he would be back again. He came back with a great army and got the house searched and the traphole was under the bed when he would get into the bed it would slap open and he would fall down
