  1. Perry was the name of the landlord in Ballinagore. They were in the district from the year 17..(?) until about sixty years ago. They were very good landlords. Evictions were carried out but not very often, while plantings have also been carried out in the district. The evicted people migrated to America. The planters got the land from Cromwell. Land was sub-divided into farms under the the guidance of the landlords. When the peoples' sons and daughters got married the land was divided up amongst them. The landlords did not exercise any special powers over his tenants. The tenants were not punished in any way, but when the people did not pay their rent they were brought to court.
Tithes were collected in the district, a man named Pat Emmet used to collect them. Tithes were collected for the Government. There are no stories about them. There were no battles fought on account of the tithes.
The old people have not stories about the dealings of the landlords with the tenants.
