    This priest used to say mass in a certain house every Sunday. The owner of the house was a man named Scally and it is situated on the Coolnahay road. There was a place in the chimney in which you could stand without being seen. The priest often hid there when he was in danger and the people always hid in the cellars. There is a tree near the house which marks the place where he said mass once. It is on a triangular piece of land at the end of Gatherenstown boreen between Balgarret and Sonna about six miles north-west of Mullingar.
