- The girls of this district amuse themselves by making daisy chains during the long summer days. At first, a bunch of daisies is gathered. A hole is put in the stem of one and the stem of a second daisy is passed through the hole. Then a third daisy is passed through a hole in the stem of the second one and so on until the chain is long enough for a necklace on a belt.Necklaces are also made from the berries of the wild rose tree. A hole is bored right through each berry from top to bottom and a needle and thread is passed through the hole.
