- (continued from previous page)district about a large eel with a horse's mane which lives in Tuitestown Lake. No attempts have been made to capture it. It has not been seen very often. It is supposed to be guarding a chest of gold which is buried in the lake.
A white horse is supposed to be seen on the bog road about four miles west of Mulligar. A man named William Smyth was cycling along the road one dark night when the white horse ran out in front of him. He leaped off the bicycle and then the horse disappeared. This is the only person I heard of who saw this animal.
A big black dog with eyes as big as saucers is said to be seen on the Ballinea Road about three miles from Mullinger. Thomas Lynch and his wife saw it about twelve o'clock one night when they were coming home from visiting friends.(continues on next page)- Collector
