- (continued from previous page)five feet high suddenly appeared. My grandfather saw him but his companion did not see him at all. He was very frightened but he said nothing. The black dog walked along with them to a house owned by a man named Paddy Dignam who is now dead. When the dog came as far as Dignam's house he disappeared through the wall which surrounds the garden attached to the house. Grandfather asked Michael Walsh who owned the huge dog but he asked "What dog." Grandfather told him about the dog but he only laughed at him.
