  1. There is a lonebush in Mr Donohoe's land, Walshestown Mullingar where Mass was said during the Penal times.
    There is a place called "The Starving Cave" in Mr Weir's land Ballyboy Slanemore Walshestown where Mass was said in the Penal times. Long ago people used to visit this cave and go down into it with a lighted candle.
    There was a Chapel in Portloman Walshestown which was built by Saint Loman. The ruins can still be seen on the island.
