- This account of Saint Loman was given to me by Kit Dolan who lived at Portloman, Mullingar.
The Saint was a nephew of Saint Patrick and lived in the fifth century. All this place was in Saint Loman's parish. He is supposed to have ploughed a scrape around his parish on his feast day 15th February and it was a rule ever after even to this day that no one should plough on the Saint's day.
