The people had a big wooden spoon to peel the potatoes and a noggin to hold the milk.
Oaten-bread and rasp, and potatoe-bread were largely used long ago.
The oaten bread was made in the shape of a plate an inch thick. Then it was put standing before the fire against a bread stick.
I often helped my mother to make rasp, and this is how she made it. She got a bucketful of potatoes, washed them, and peeled them. Then she(continues on next page)- Collector
