  2. The Goldfinch builds her nest in a big high whitethorn bush. She lays five eggs. The eggs are white with brown spots on them. She hatches them about three weeks. She builds her nest of moss and lines it with feathers and hair. The Goldfinch never leaves this country. The weather is never judged by her but it judged by the Crow and the Swallow. If the Crows are lying at the backs of ditches it is a sign of bad weather. If the swallows are
