  1. Kilmahon graveyard is the oldest graveyard in the Co Longford.
    Long ago a monk named Mahon built a church in it.
    The ruins of the church are still to be seen. Long ago there was an old ditch around the church and there was gold ornaments found when the ditch was knocked.
    It is said that St Patrick blessed this graveyard and that no insects can live in it.
