In the castle hall there is a curious figure of a horseman carved in stone, which was exhibited in the Dublin Exhibition in 1853. The figure was found in year 1844 in a rath on Knock-na-man that is "the hill of God" or "hill of the Sun" or "hill of the Alter" south of the castle.

  2. Knock-na-man
This rath stands high, surrounded by large stones which appear to have undergone the action of fire as the ashes is still plain to be seen around wherever holes are dug for planting.
There are also 3 other similar rings or raths on the top of Cumber Mts about 1/2 mile from Knock-na-man. Cumber means Aurora or the Sun at the dawn of Day.
