  1. There is a short cut from Arklow to the Rock; it lies across sand hills. At the point where you must go on the road there is a field and near a ditch of the field lies a well. It is called Our Lady's Well.
    There is a thorn bush on one side of the well and on every branch of the bush little bits of rags are tied. It is not considered right to remove these rags. They have been there many years. The water of the well is used.
