  1. Once upon a time an old man in this district died and his remains were brought to the parish of Baile na gCéireach for internment.
    The people took the remains into the chapel for a while. Then they took the coffin out after some time and put it on the hearse but the horse would not move - not even a step and the relatives had to carry the coffin on their shoulders to the graveyard and in that graveyard the old man was buried. No one knew what was the cause of the stoppage and it is still talked over by the old people during the long Winter night's.
