    for their dinner. The table was attached to the wall by hinges and there were only a two legs under it and these could be take off anytime. The legs were taken off when the table was not in use so that it could hang by the hinges along the wall. It was oaten bread and "flannen bread as the old people called it, that was eaten. Oaten meal and flour were mixed together and baked on a griddle. The griddle was made of iron and it was about the size of a large oven. The griddle was put in on the fire and the bread was then put on it to bake. Here is sketch of a griddle:
