    saucer and about 2 ft. in diameter. The basket was placed over a bucket into which the water ran. People sat round the basket each had a "pigeon of butterr-milk. A plate of salt was placed in the middle of the basket. No knives or forks were used.
    People who had a "falling table hung it up against the wall when not required. Wheat bread made from all wheat meal or sometimes oaten or Indian meal bread was used. The oaten bread was baked on a griddle in front of the fire. Sometimes hard boxty cakes were baked on the pan.
    People ate pancakes on "Shrove Tuesday" potato-bread on Bone fire night" "Sowens" on ash Wednesday and Good Friday and Colcannom on 12th July. People ate nettles and water-cress boiled as vegetables and
