    The landlords raised the rents when they knew 'twas hard to get them. They had the making of large ranches in view. Several families were turned out on the roadside to die, or go to the poor house. In this way large ranches were made for protestant settlers.
    A man named King had a contract for taking the sick and poor to the workhouse in Oldcastle. He brought them there on an ass and cart.
    Some time after the authorities provide a jennet and cart for the purpose.
