We are the boys of Cavan
Who always stood the test
We're going to try conclusions with the brave men of the West.
We met the world's champions
And took from them the crown
We're going up to Dublin
To pull Galway's colours down.

It being on an August Sunday
In the year of thirty-three.
That we attained the honours
That escaped us in Tralee.
By beating those invincibles
By the score of eight to five
We have proved to the World that the North is still alive.

Those famous Kerry champions
Had a record hard to beat
For four years in succession
They have never known defeat.
They have often met and conquered
The rest of Irelands best
