- Long ago people believed in cures and to the present day in most cases.
The white lily root was believed to be a first class remedy for a beeling. It is used by making it into pulp and putting it on as a poultice. Fairy flax was a remedy for the kidney disease. It is used by drawing it like tea and by drinking a quantity of the juice each day. For any sore on the lips the skin of a docking will cure it. Nettle water was a cure for the measles. For any inflamed pock a raw potato grated and used like a poultice. A cure for the sore throat is to heat salt and use it as a(continues on next page)- Collector
