    them. When they arrive they begin to sing and dance, and they are given money and refreshments. Sometimes these "straw-boys" do a lot of mischief, when they are badly received.
    In olden times some of those attending the wedding raced against each other on horses, on the way home, and whoever arrived home first, got a bottle of whiskey. Wives sat on the horses with their husbands on their return.
